OLG PlaySmart Centres: A National Multi-Site Deployment
Ramcom successfully completed the comprehensive AV supply and installation for 18 PlaySmart Centres located within OLG land-based gaming sites. Notably, this project required a high degree of precision to ensure that educational and interactive tools were seamlessly integrated into highly regulated public spaces. Ultimately, these government AV and infrastructure solutions provide a robust platform for player education and responsible gaming across the province.

Design Coordination & Precision Site Integration
To ensure a successful rollout across 18 unique locations, Ramcom provided full coordination support during the design review and site integration phases. Specifically, we supplied detailed AV drawings and ensured perfect alignment with existing electrical and data layouts. Furthermore, by coordinating closely with client stakeholders on power and data provisions, we guaranteed that the foundational infrastructure met all regulatory and safety standards before the hardware was deployed.

Specialized Display Mounting & High-Visibility Solutions
We managed the installation of varied display formats to maximize guest engagement and system durability. In particular, each “Quiet Area” was equipped with 24-inch wall-mounted displays on swing-arm brackets, positioned high for clear sightlines and damage protection. In addition, a 50-inch display with internal speakers was installed in each main centre, utilizing a swing-arm bracket to ensure optimal accessibility and easy service alignment.

Interactive Systems & Motion-Triggered Audio Integration
The PlaySmart Centres feature an advanced interactive display system in a portrait orientation. To achieve this, we integrated ceiling-mounted IR motion sensors above both the interactive displays and the slot machine areas. As a result, we established defined motion capture zones that trigger automated audio playback, creating a responsive environment that engages users the moment they enter the active zone.

Equipment Rack Engineering & Localized Control
For the core of each system, Ramcom installed a 27RU floor-standing AV rack within the designated storage space at each site. Notably, we fully populated and labeled every component, including signal distribution, control processors, and power management devices. Furthermore, a dedicated control touchscreen was mounted directly to the face of the rack, allowing for simplified local operation and troubleshooting by onsite staff.

Structured Cabling & Turnkey Commissioning
A critical component of our government AV and infrastructure delivery was the termination and verification of all fiber and copper cabling. Specifically, our team verified signal integrity and cable routing to ensure 100% compliance with OLG standards. Finally, we completed the system programming and commissioning, delivering a fully functional turnkey solution supported by comprehensive as-built documentation and configuration files for a seamless hand-off.
